In the begining our love soared,
To heights I'd never known.
As by me time has roared,
My love for you has grown.


The connection that was made,
Between our abused hearts.
Told me something had got in the way,
Trying to push us apart.


For a while you held back,
Nothing was said, but I knew.
Something different, a lack
Of emotions flowing from you.


I could sense a caution from you,
A holding back in fear.
A strange unknown coldness,
Whenever I was near.

I sense a hidden pain in you,
Just what I cannot say.
It makes me want to hold you tight,
And make it go away.


Whatever caused that hurt in you,
Matters not to me.
I never want to see you blue,
Or lose faith in me.


When it is all said and done,
I just want you to know.
For me you are the only one,
I cherish, adore and love so.


I want to place you behind a shield,
Of love, happiness and hope.
Where only good and happy things,
Could ever touch your heart.


Money and possessions have I few,
But all I have is yours.
The only thing I care to do,
Is love, please and cherish you,
forevermore.
