In my closet, dark and cold.
All alone, no one to hold.
I sit in here for a time,
With thoughts of you filling my mind.
There was a day, the sun shone bright.
Blue skies, birds sang, the world was right.
Storm clouds moved in, and now they stay,
They have darkened all of my days.
Just a glimpse, just a peek,
You open the door and check in on me.
The light is so bright, my heart pounds so,
Hoping you embrace me and never let go.
So I sit here in this lonely place,
Longing for your sweet embrace.
One day closer, some day soon,
You will smile on me, release me from my gloom.
You know how, you did it before.
When I was on the other side of the door.
I will emerge when it is safe,
Never again to visit this place.
